Justin Bieber just released his new album JUSTICE and I don’t know about y’all but I was (and still am) a BIG belieber growing up. I mean I had a whole shrine for him in 6th grade, it was crazy. I have always loved his music. He gathered a bunch of different artists for this project. This album has a mix of different genres which I like! I think this album may be geared toward his relationship, which isn’t bad but I do remember when Chance The Rapper put out his recent album ‘The Big Day’ it is all about his relationship with his wife and his life as a married man. He got a lot of backlash from his fans because it wasn’t what they wanted from him. It was a good album though. I will be listening to each song as I’m writing and will be giving my rating and feedback.
The album starts with the song ‘2 Much’ where he talks about his wife Hailey Bieber. In the song, he states “don’t want to fall asleep, I’m scared ill miss too much” he’s talking about wanting to make as many memories with her as possible. I would give this song a 6/10. It is a good song, has good lyrics, but is too slow for my taste. The next song is ‘Deserve You’ he is talking about how he doesn’t deserve the attention and love from his wife. I would give this a 4/10, it isn’t my favorite. The next song is called ‘As I Am’. Khalid is the feature for this song and I think their voices pair well together. This song is talking about take me as I am, don’t try and change me, I will try and be the best for you. The beat is catchy as well. I give this song a 6/10 as well only because I like the beat but it just isn’t that good to me. The next song is called ‘Off My Face’ and is about how much he is in love with his wife. “I’m off my face, in love with you, I’m out my head, so into you, and I don’t know how you do it, but I’m forever ruined by you.” I like this song! It is more of an acoustic vibe than anything. I rate this song 8/10. ‘Holy’ is his song with Chance The Rapper. The song is basing his relationship with his wife as God loves us. This song came out before the album as a single and did very well in streams. I give this song a 5/10 only because it was way too overplayed.
The next song ‘Unstable’ that features The Kid LAROI is about all of his times of trouble, his wife loved him through all of it. It is another slower, sad song. I give it a 4/10, I didn’t like it.
The next song is ‘MLK Interlude’. It is a speech that Martin Luther King Jr speaking about standing up for what you believe in no matter what. Even if you are afraid of being criticized, stand up for what is right and what is the truth.
The next song is ‘Die For You’. The music is based on the 80’s beat. The song is about giving up your life for someone. It features Dominic Fike. He is one of my favorite artists and so far, this is my favorite song. It is upbeat and also has a bunch of beat changes which I think is cool. I give this one a 9/10.
‘Hold On’ is the next song on the album. It is about knowing what it feels like to be in a dark time. I love the message behind this song! I give it a 7/10.
‘Somebody’ is about everyone needing a companion in life. The music behind it is pretty cool, it is more upbeat and fast-paced. I give this one a 6/10, it is really repetitive.
‘Ghost’ is the next song. It is pretty similar to ‘Somebody’ and ‘As I Am’ beat-wise. It is talking about if you can’t be with someone in person, you could settle with the ghost of them. I think he is talking about the memories and thoughts of that person rather than the ghost. I give it a 7/10, I liked the upbeat music behind it!
‘Peaches’ features Daniel Ceasar and Giveon, two popular R&B artists that are so good! It is more of a chill song. It is about his wife Hailey Bieber and their long-lasting romance. I rate this song a 10/10, definitely my favorite song on the album.
‘Love you Different’ features BEAM. is about loving someone no matter what they go through. I really like the beat of the song it reminds me of afrobeat music. I give this song a 8/10 I really like the beat!
‘Anyone’ is about the relationship he has with his wife. It is very sweet and sentimental. I rate this song 7/10, it is a little repetitive but is super sweet.
The last song on the album is ‘Lonely’. This song is about his childhood growing up as he did. He became popular at a very young age and being in the spotlight can corrupt you, especially being so young. He talks about no matter how many people he is surrounded by, he was lonely. I give this song a 7/10. It was really overplayed as well as it blew up on Tik Tok, so I heard it a lot.
Overall I don’t think this was his best album. I give the album a 7/10. It has some good songs but it isn’t better than any of the music he already put out.
